Privacy Policy

The short version

Your calculations, your history, and your settings never leave your device. There is no account to create, and no server of ours that they are sent to. The app does send anonymous crash and usage diagnostics on Android, described below.

What stays on your device

Everything you enter and everything the app produces is stored locally and only locally:

• The expressions you type and the results they produce.
• Your calculation history (the most recent 200 entries).
• Your settings — theme, decimal places, whether history is recorded, language, and number formatting region.

This data is held in the operating system's own storage for apps — SharedPreferences on Android, NSUserDefaults on iOS. We cannot read it, and it is not transmitted anywhere. Deleting the app removes it. You can also clear your history at any time from inside the app, or turn history recording off entirely in Settings.

Diagnostics we do collect

The Android version of YoCalculator includes Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics, from Google. These report:

• Crash reports — the technical details of what the app was doing when it stopped working, so we can fix it.
• Basic usage events, such as the app being opened, along with device type, operating system version, and a randomly generated app instance identifier.

These reports do not include the contents of your calculations or your history. They are not tied to your name or email address, because the app never asks for either.

Google processes this data as our service provider. Their handling of it is covered by the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation and the Google Privacy Policy.

The iOS version does not currently include Crashlytics or Analytics. If that changes, this page will be updated before the change ships.

What we never do

• We do not ask you to create an account or give us an email address.
• We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not show advertising in the app.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera.

Children

YoCalculator is rated suitable for ages 4 and up. It contains no user-generated content, no messaging, no in-app purchases, and no links out to the open web. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.

Your choices

Because we hold no personal data about you on any server, there is no account to delete and no data export to request. To remove everything the app has stored, clear your history in Settings or uninstall the app.

On Android you can reset the advertising and analytics identifier your device provides through the system settings, and opt out of diagnostics sharing at the operating system level.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, we will update the date at the top of this page and describe the change here before the new behaviour reaches the app.
